12^th Symposium on the flora of southeastern Serbia and neighboring regions is held from 16^th to 19^th june 2016. at mountain Kopaonik.

Kopaonik is one of the larger mountain ranges of Serbia. It is located in the central part of Serbia. Kopaonik is also a national park and the major ski resort in Serbia. Its highest point, Pančić's Peak, is 2,017 m above sea level.

Kopaonik National Park covers an area of 11,810 hectares and based on the number of endemic species, it is one of Serbia’s most important diversity hotspots for endemic flora. Some of the rare species are the Pančićeva potočarka (Cardamine pancicii) and the Kopaonik violet (Viola kopaonikensis).
